A Little About Meals On Wheels

Meals On Wheels, a non-profit initiative under the Auxiliary to the Penticton Regional Hospital Society, delivers nutritious meals to individuals unable to cook for themselves, promoting both their independence at home and social connection. We provide nutritious warm and frozen meals that are delivered to those who are unable to cook for themselves and our service allows our clients to stay home longer and provide continuous contact to those who may have none.

Our Volunteers

Volunteers of Meals on Wheels, are the foundation of our services, and are hardworking and caring people. However, in many cases our volunteers benefit from us as much as we benefit from them. Often our volunteers create a close relationship with our clients and feel that they have become part of their extended family and, are warmed by the smiling faces as meals are delivered. We need help delivering meals, and packaging them for delivery, as well as extra volunteers to help when our regular ones have other commitments.

It's a great way to meet new people and make new friends. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us anytime, during our regular operating hours. You can see the smiles on clients’ faces when you arrive with their meal. Many of our volunteers feel our clients become part of their extended family. It is a great way to meet new people and make new friends.
